Blocking antibody

It's an antibody, which doesn't have a reactin when combined with antigen, but also prevents other antibodies from combingin with that antigen. This is very useful function for blocking anitbodies and have variety of experimental and clinical uses. Thi antibodies have been described as a mechanism for HSV-1 to evade the immune system. Blocking anitbody term is also used for inhibiting antibody, prozone phenomenon and, agglutination reaction.
